About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cook who can provide high-quality food services and maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in the kitchen. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to build positive relationships with employees, coworkers, and residents.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily shift operations of the kitchen, including meal preparation, cooking, purchasing, cost control, sanitation, and safety.
  • Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented according to established standards.
  • Maintain kitchen and food storage areas in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
  • Responsible for overall food quality and presentation, adhering to recipes and approved menus.
  • Oversee daily operations of the kitchen in the absence of the Food Service Director.
  • Assist with menu planning and development based on resident preferences.
  • Train staff to follow standard food safety practices.
  • Assist with special events, banquets, and theme meals.
  • Acknowledge new residents with menus, seating, and dining options.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Culinary training preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a cook or chef in a hospitality or healthcare environment
  • Serve Safe Certification
  • Able to read and follow recipes and production guides.
Benefits

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary, estimated to be around $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
