POSITION OVERVIEW

The LVN Specialist is responsible for overseeing the activities of designated LVN staff within the juvenile detention facilities. This role is crucial in maintaining adherence to the policies and protocols established by the University Health System and Detention Health Care Services.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise and support LVN personnel to ensure high-quality care.
  • Monitor compliance with health care standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals to enhance service delivery.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have graduated from an accredited vocational nursing program. A minimum of three years of experience in health care is required, with at least one year in a supervisory or management role preferred. Certification in Correctional Health Care is advantageous.

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must hold a valid license to practice Vocational Nursing in Texas. Certification in Correctional Health Care is preferred. Additionally, a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card is required.
