We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at Alpine Animal Hospital in Mountain View, CA.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting animal examinations, restraining patients, and reviewing care plans and records. They will also be responsible for caring for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering vaccines, providing wound care management, completing laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct animal examinations and restrain patients as needed
  • Review care plans and records to ensure accurate and timely care
  • Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering vaccines, and providing wound care management
  • Complete laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging as required
  • Fill prescriptions and administer medications, including proper documentation, logging, and security of controlled drugs
  • Operate and maintain hospital equipment
  • Anesthetize animals and monitor anesthesia under the direction and supervision of the Veterinarian
  • Perform dental prophylaxis and dental imaging
  • Maintain medical records by documenting patients' conditions, reactions, and changes
  • Proactive role in developing new skills and furthering knowledge base by attending CE
  • Support the team in welcoming new employees and assist in the training process when needed
Requirements and Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of RVT experience
  • Confidence with anesthesia monitoring, dental assisting, and pre/post op care
  • RVT, LVT, or CVT certification required
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and calculations
