Job Title: Residential Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Implement Individualized Plans: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized plans that cater to the unique needs and goals of each client.
  2. Provide Support and Guidance: Offer emotional support, guidance, and encouragement to clients to help them develop essential life skills and independence.
  3. Monitor and Report Progress: Regularly monitor client progress, identify areas for improvement, and report any changes or concerns to the supervisor or program coordinator.
  4. Administer Medication: Once certified, administer medication to clients at prescribed times, following agency policy and regulatory standards.
  5. Assist with Daily Living Tasks: Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, household chores, and personal care.
  6. Participate in Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
  7. Maintain Confidentiality and Boundaries: Ensure the confidentiality and dignity of clients at all times, adhering to Community Residences' confidentiality policy.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in the field of human services.
  • Valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to transport clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule: Friday-Saturday, 3pm-11pm
