Job Description

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Implement Individualized Plans: Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to create and implement individualized plans that cater to the unique needs and goals of each client.
  2. Provide Support and Guidance: Offer emotional support, guidance, and encouragement to clients to help them develop essential life skills and independence.
  3. Monitor and Report Changes: Regularly monitor clients' medical, physical, and behavioral changes and report any concerns to the Supervisor, RN Program Coordinator, or Program Director.
  4. Administer Medication: Once certified, administer medication to clients at prescribed times, adhering to agency policy and DDS regulatory standards.
  5. Assist with Daily Living Tasks: Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, household management, and personal care.
  6. Participate in Training and Development: Participate in training opportunities, including in-service training, staff meetings, and conferences, to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  7. Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality of clients' information and adhere to CRI's confidentiality policy.
  8. Transport Clients: Safely transport clients to various community-based outings, adhering to health and safety measures outlined in their individual support plans.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience in the field of Human Services.
  • Valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to utilize personal vehicle to transport clients.

Work Schedule: Friday-Saturday 3pm-11pm, Sunday-Monday 3pm-9pm
