Millennium Health LLC is a certified specialty laboratory with over ten years of expertise in medication monitoring and drug testing services. We assist healthcare providers in tracking the use of prescribed medications and illicit substances, thereby enhancing clinical decision-making for millions of individuals facing chronic pain, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders.

The Patient Specimen Technician plays a vital role at Millennium Health. Acting as our representative, this position is dedicated to delivering outstanding care and exceptional service to patients, healthcare providers, and our laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect urine and/or oral fluid (saliva) samples from patients.
  • Process and prepare samples for shipping.
  • Act as a liaison between the healthcare practice and the laboratory.
  • Document patient details, physician orders, and relevant laboratory information.
  • Address any specimen-related issues concerning billing or patient data in the ordering system.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of collection supplies on-site.
  • Oversee sample collection for Millennium Health specimens when necessary.
  • Travel between multiple facilities may be required.

Qualifications:

Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 6 months of experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years in a medical role directly supporting patients is preferred.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience may substitute for medical experience.
  • Proficient in using smartphones and computers.
  • Valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with medical billing and medications/diagnostic codes is advantageous.
  • Commitment to adhering to HIPAA, HiTrust, confidentiality, and compliance policies and standards.
  • Ability to maintain administrative, physical, and technical cybersecurity measures.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Physical demands include sitting (90%), walking (5%), standing (5%), and lifting up to 20 lbs.
