General Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate all ongoing projects within the department to guarantee timely execution that aligns with client expectations and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards. Direct the formulation of proposals and cost assessments for clients to ensure accurate service scoping, manpower availability, and pricing to achieve targeted profitability. Manage the daily functions of the department, including staff training, development, performance evaluations, equipment and facility utilization, safety management, service quality, timely service delivery, and compliance with policies and procedures. Engage in business development initiatives to identify, cultivate, secure, and execute project opportunities while fostering and maintaining client relationships.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the creation of proposals and cost assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Office Manager to conduct business and client development initiatives.
  • Assist the Office Manager in developing and managing employee staffing strategies, recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
  • Support the Office Manager in preparing and implementing the annual business strategy for the department.
  • With the Office Manager's assistance, oversee and ensure the achievement of key departmental metrics, including revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of project-related risks. Be aware of potential project pitfalls and strategies to safeguard the Company. Familiarize yourself with company risk management policies.
  • Champion safety initiatives for the team and ensure adherence to safety protocols and guidelines. Responsible for fostering and exemplifying a safe working environment; promote safety practices. Encourage pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Advocate for ongoing quality monitoring and enhancement on projects. Supervise quality standards and practices. Engage with APRs at the onset of projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline relevant to the Firm, such as Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology, along with 5 years of practical experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 9 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history is required.
Preferred Certification:
  • Certification or licensure in the relevant field of expertise.
