Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of patients in healthcare facilities. Their responsibilities include assisting patients with menu selections, assembling and delivering meal trays, and retrieving trays from patient rooms. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help patients understand their menu options and work with nursing staff to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, or cultural preferences.
  • Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient's menu selection in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO guidelines.
  • Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist dietitians with tasks such as monitoring patients who require special diets.
  • Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.
