- Processes customer orders and payments accurately.
- Enters customer sales orders and credit application details into the system.
- Prepares and clarifies credit agreements.
- Accepts and records customer payments and manages returns appropriately.
- Maintains store records and correspondence as necessary.
- Engages in proactive business solicitation through calls and mailings.
- Conducts follow-ups post-delivery.
- Prepares merchandise pricing labels as needed.
- Adheres to the company's loss prevention strategies, ensuring a safe working environment, and identifying and rectifying unsafe conditions.
- Undertakes additional duties as required for the smooth operation of the store.
- Assists the store manager in guiding, supervising, and coordinating staff involved in sales, account management, deliveries, and daily operations.
- Responsible for various customer service tasks within the store, reviewing credit applications, and helping customers maintain their accounts.
- Assigns daily tasks to employees and aids in their training across all aspects of store operations, product knowledge, job responsibilities, and safety protocols.
- Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Implements and interprets company policies for employees; investigates and resolves customer complaints.
- Oversees staff to guarantee safe performance of duties that align with company health and safety standards. Investigates incidents and submits reports to corporate.
- Takes necessary measures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for both staff and customers.
- Manages cash control; reconciles daily cash and sales receipts; verifies and processes bank deposits; ensures inventory accuracy through regular audits.
- Handles cash refunds and merchandise credits, ensuring inventory accurately reflects transactions.
- Generates sales and merchandise reports.
- Maintains proper pricing controls and tagging on merchandise, orders, and transfers inventory to meet merchandising objectives.
- Executes the company's loss prevention program, securing the store and merchandise against theft, loss, or damage.
- Arranges merchandise displays in accordance with Corporate Store Index and Style Mapping for effective presentation.
- Adheres to the monthly promotional and merchandising plans set by the advertising and marketing departments.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. or moving 200 lbs. with assistance or a dolly without sustaining injury or damaging merchandise.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six months to one year of experience in retail sales or customer service.
- Flexibility in work hours, including weekends.
- Proficiency in operating general office equipment.
- Competence in computer data entry.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations using a calculator.
- Effective communication skills with customers and staff; ability to assimilate information and make informed decisions; capacity to work under pressure in an organized manner.
- Strong planning and organization skills for daily work activities.
- Ability to work independently in the absence of direct supervision.
- Physical capability to sit, lift, stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, and kneel.
- Assists customers with loading vehicles and merchandising on the sales floor.
