We are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Care Nurse Specialist to join Spire Orthopedic Partners, providing safe and effective perioperative nursing care for ambulatory care patients with a unique blend of surgical expertise and exceptional patient experience. About the Role:

  • Facilitate seamless patient management in our state-of-the-art surgical center, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Make pre-op calls to patients and their families to address any concerns and provide essential information.
  • Collaborate with front office staff on the intake process to guarantee accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Assist with pre-op assessment and teaching to empower patients with knowledge and confidence.
  • Plan and prepare for intraoperative nursing care, utilizing expertise in sterile techniques and asepsis standards.
  • Gather equipment and supplies based on individual patient needs, ensuring a smooth operating room environment.
  • Create and maintain sterile fields, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulations.
  • Function as both Scrub and Circulating nurse, leveraging skills in instrumentation and anesthesia administration.
  • Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Administer medications and solutions as prescribed, maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Position and prepare patients on operating tables, prioritizing comfort and safety.
  • Monitor and control the environment, adhering to strict safety standards and best practices.
  • Delegate tasks to competent personnel, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Maintain equipment and sterilizing procedures, upholding high standards of quality and cleanliness.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, remaining calm and composed under pressure.
  • Evaluate readiness for patient discharge, collaborating closely with anesthesiologists to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Report adverse events and maintain accurate patient records, upholding confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Maintain open communication with patients, families, staff, and physicians, fostering a culture of empathy and understanding.
