Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to join our team at the University of Buffalo - Campus Dining. As a Student Marketing Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Director of Marketing and Communications in executing Dining Services promotions, Meal Plans, special events, and advertising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with organizing special events and initiatives, including copywriting for websites and social media networks.
  • Contribute to vendor continuity promotions and customer incentive programs.
  • Oversee and assist with all Point of Sale (POS) distribution.
  • Participate in the development of focus groups and surveys.
  • Regular attendance for scheduled shifts is required.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to handle high-volume events and public speaking.
  • Must attend a training class and complete new hire paperwork virtually.
  • Student employees must be registered for classes at the University or show proof of registration from another institution.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Marketing Major or Communication Focus.
  • Computer Skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Social Media Capabilities (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat).
Work Environment:

The work environment can be loud and busy, with exposure to kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery falls. Work may take place outside in inclement weather.

The position is very active, requiring the ability to stand and walk for up to a minimum of 8 hours. The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
