Job Summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse II to join our Heart Failure team. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the advancement of the nursing profession.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans
  • Coordinate care activities with other healthcare disciplines
  • Administer medications and provide direct patient care
  • Practice infection control and maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State
  • One year of post-licensure acute care nursing experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing may be substituted for one year of experience
Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome candidates with:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • At least one year of previous hospital acute care experience
  • 2 years of Outpatient Cardiology experience
  • 2 years of direct patient care in Heart Failure
  • Telemetry experience, critical care experience, BLS/ACLS certification, and IRB certification
