Job Title: Family Peer Specialist

Fraser is seeking a Family Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Family Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of client care by working collaboratively with other members of the client's treatment team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide family peer support to build on a member's family's strengths and help the family achieve desired outcomes
  • Provide non-adversarial advocacy to a child and the child's family that encourages partnership and promotes the child's positive change and growth
  • Support families in advocating for culturally appropriate services for a child in each treatment setting
  • Promote resiliency, self-advocacy, and development of natural supports
  • Establish and lead parent support groups
  • Assist parents in developing coping and problem-solving skills
  • Educate parents about mental illnesses and community resources, including resources that connect parents with similar experiences to one another
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner as outlined in the regulations and in accordance with Fraser's policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, HSED, GED or equivalent required
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • DHS approved 'Certified Family Peer Specialist' required
  • Valid Minnesota Driver's License with acceptable record required
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusion with a focus on culturally responsive practice, internal self-awareness, and reflection
  • Must be a parent or a caregiver of a child with a mental health diagnosis
  • Must demonstrate strong competency in navigating systems of care within children's mental health
  • Experience working in a telehealth setting preferred
