The Garnishment Specialist I plays a crucial role in ensuring that employees of our clients receive accurate and timely wage garnishment payments. This position is tasked with ensuring the successful automation of processes and, when necessary, addressing any automation failures. The role requires the ability to work within established service level deadlines, manage multiple tasks, analyze legal orders, and operate efficiently and accurately. Regular interactions with garnishment agencies will occur, albeit infrequently. A strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and set up all child support and student loan garnishment orders, which may involve examining student loans.
  • Ensure that the final outcomes of garnishment orders are 100% accurate, including order start and stop dates, deduction amounts and frequencies, as well as legally mandated answer letters and interrogatory responses.
  • Maintain accuracy through the analysis of optical character recognition (OCR) and robotic process automation (RPA) results.
  • Identify failure points within the technology throughout the garnishment process.
  • Engage with customer teams to address questions and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Assess incoming garnishment mail and determine appropriate resolutions, escalating as necessary.
  • Review and rectify daily failure notifications stemming from automation issues, including letter responses and electronic withholding orders.
