Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization. This position involves engagement in financial management projects and providing essential support for the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. The individual will also contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing and automating the company's accounting systems, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate recording and review of general ledger postings, maintaining compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts at month-end, ensuring sufficient documentation supports account balances.
  • Assist in planning, executing, and reporting on ad hoc projects aimed at improving accounting systems and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement in workpapers and processes, focusing on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in the annual inventory or cycle counting process.
  • Support the annual audit conducted by external public accounting firms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in industry or public accounting.
  • Pursuit of CPA, CMA, or MBA is advantageous.
  • Experience in manufacturing or public accounting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in processes.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Hyperion Planning or similar multi-dimensional databases is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines efficiently.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to engage with all organizational levels.
  • Critical thinking and independent reasoning skills.
  • Willingness to travel for physical inventories or costing projects as needed.
