Key Responsibilities
  • Record and review postings within the General Ledger, ensuring accuracy of inputs and supporting calculations as well as adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts at month-end, focusing on ensuring sufficient evidence exists to justify account balances.
  • Assist with planning, executing, and reporting on the status of ad hoc projects to improve systems and procedures.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of workpapers and processes with an emphasis on reducing inefficiencies and increasing accuracy.
  • Participate in the annual Physical Inventory or Cycle Counting process.
  • Assist with the annual audit by external public accounting firm.
Requirements
  • BS in Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years related work experience in industry or public accounting.
  • Pursuit of CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus.
  • Manufacturing or public accounting experience preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrate a focus on continuous improvement and process excellence.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Excel including Pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Hyperion Planning or another multi-dimensional database a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work well both independently and on a team.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to think critically and reason on your own.
  • Potential for travel to offsite locations driven by physical inventories or costing projects.
