Mechanical Process Engineer

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Process Engineer to join our team in Chelmsford, MA. As a key member of our water treatment facility design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical process systems for water treatment facilities, water booster pump stations, and wastewater pumping and treatment facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical process systems, including pumps, piping, valves, and equipment
- Develop process flow diagrams and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Perform hydraulic calculations for pump sizing and equipment selection
- Research and recommend equipment and system design solutions
- Coordinate with project managers and design managers to ensure project deliverables are met
- Develop technical specifications, equipment and piping plans, elevations, sections, and details
- Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices
- Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and 6 years of experience in design and layout of mechanical process piping, valves, equipment, etc.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) a plus
- 8+ years of experience in design and layout of mechanical process piping, valves, equipment, etc.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and REVIT
- Experience in the water/wastewater industry
- Ability to work with a diverse team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture
- Experienced, self-directed professional
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Ability to meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines
