Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical leadership of major robotics and automation development projects, and for applications engineering, development of new products/extensions and sustaining engineering on robots used for material handling in semiconductor or similar capital equipment industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Applications Engineering: Work with marketing, sales, and customer teams to identify new robot opportunities, determine best products to work within customer requirements, and define requirements specifications and develop engineering design specifications.
  • Product Extensions and New Product Development: Work with product management to define new product extension requirements per strategic plan and engineering design specifications, and lead the development of new products from concept through production using a stage gate development process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support and plan work for improving products, use quality data to determine CIP plans, and manage part obsolescence and supplier issues.
  • Project Engineering: Responsible for generating project plans and working with program management on cross-functional resources, determining resource requirements, managing and tracking engineering tasks.
Requirements:
  • BSME + 6-8 years of experience or MSME preferred and 4-5 years of experience in robotics or automated machine design, including the integration of electronics, firmware, and motion control.
  • Demonstrated expertise in engineering fundamentals, experience selecting and working with key suppliers and outsource partners, and proven ability to develop new products from concept through production.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead multi-disciplinary teams to accomplish aggressive goals, experience working directly with customers with applications of highly technical and complex products, and ability to complete static, dynamic, vibration, structural, and thermal analysis.
  • Expertise in bearing/motion component selection and design, electro-mechanical precision machine design with embedded software and controls, and experience with DFx including reliability and cost.
  • Experience with Solid Modeling and Finite Element Analysis and MS Project required, and expertise in application of robotics used for automated material handling, system layout, and throughput analysis.
Preferred:
  • Experience with ProE, Mechanica, Agile, and Oracle preferred, and experience in semiconductor capital equipment or adjacent markets.
