About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Recycling Programs Supervisor to join our team at the City of Saint Paul, MN. As a key member of our Public Works Department, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing citywide recycling, organic waste, and solid waste management environmental programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development and Implementation: Plan, direct, and implement citywide recycling, organic waste, and solid waste management environmental programs.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor contracts, analyze performance, and evaluate service delivery.
  • Grant Writing and Management: Perform grants writing and management, including developing funding sources and tracking grant finances.
  • Community Engagement: Act as a liaison with community groups, create contracts and agreements for each program, attend meetings, represent the City on committees, and evaluate and monitor program data.
Requirements:
  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Ecology, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources Management, Public Administration, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible, professional environmental, recycling, or waste management experience, including coordinating or administering recycling, waste, or resource management programs and projects.
  • Driver's License: Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License, or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
