Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Ithaca City School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality healthcare services to students in our schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of RNs & LPNs at 18 sites, managing staffing & coverage
  • Performing mandated school health appraisals, student working paper physicals, sports physicals
  • Reviewing medical histories and documentations for accommodations
  • Reviewing & signing scripts for OT & PT services and stock medications
  • Writing standing orders
  • Completing mandated reporting to NYSDOH
  • Working with Athletics for concussion clearances and placement process
  • Working with Student Services and contracted agencies
  • Adhering to medical and nursing protocols
  • Interviewing, hiring, & training of new nursing staff
  • Communicating with collaborating physician
  • Arranging continuing education for nurses

Requirements:
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State
  • Current New York State Education Department certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a specialty area of Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or School Health
  • One year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Pediatrics, Family Medicine or School Health or two years of Registered Professional Nursing experience in Pediatrics, Family Medicine or School Health
