Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner- Women's Health at Evergreen Health Services is responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients of our Primary & Specialty Care practice.

This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a patient-centered approach to care, reporting directly to an assigned supervising physician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides comprehensive health care services to Gynecological patients, including well-patient screenings, oral contraceptive screenings, breast exams, and treatment of menstrual irregularities.
  • Performs and evaluates the diagnosis and treatment of vulva, vaginal, and cervical abnormalities, including colposcopies and endometrial biopsies.
  • Inserts and removes birth control implants.
  • Provides patients with instructions on proper use of medications and educates them on positive health behaviors and self-care skills.
  • Offers preventive and health maintenance care, including annual PAP/breast screenings, health education, and counseling.
  • Collaborates with physicians, clinics, and other health resources for consultation or referral as necessary.
  • Prepares and documents comprehensive patient histories, examinations, and diagnoses.

Requirements:

  • Current license to practice as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Excellent customer service, time management, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to the issues that underserved populations, people living with HIV, Intellectually and developmentally disabled, and people who use drugs face, including health disparities that affect people of color at a disproportionate rate.
