School Improvement Specialist
The Mobile County Public School System is seeking a highly skilled School Improvement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Academic Affairs staff, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of school improvement plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and monitor district partnerships to ensure effective collaboration and resource allocation.
- Conduct regular site visits to provide coaching and support to school staff.
- Collaborate with the Office of School Readiness - First Class PreK staff to ensure alignment with district goals and objectives.
- Provide instructional and fiscal support to identified schools to improve student outcomes.
- Advocate for the development of school/classroom goals, strategies, and activities that align with the district's strategic plan.
- Facilitate and monitor the use of best practices based on data to drive instructional decisions.
- Work collaboratively with MCPSS Academic Affairs staff to ensure effective implementation of school improvement plans.
- Assist school staff in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting school data and reports.
- Assist school staff in developing, implementing, revising, and evaluating Continuous Improvement Plans (CIPs).
- Assist school staff in using resources effectively to achieve school goals.
- Help school staff identify and eliminate barriers to promote necessary school consensus for change.
- Collaborate with school principals, faculty, and other personnel from the LEA to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Summarize and report monthly progress to the Executive Director of Federal Programs or designee.
- Monitor the schools' allocation of time and resources to ensure consistency with the goals and objectives of the CIP.
- Monitor the inclusion of effective strategies in the CIP that addresses underachieving students.
- Monitor the use of comparison, trend, and benchmark data to assess the rate of school/classroom results that guide improvement efforts.
- Participate in ongoing quality training to stay current on best practices.
- Ensure the proper coordination of resources between Federal and Regular Programs.
- Assume any and all other responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director of Federal Programs.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid Appropriate Alabama Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood Education.
Must have a Master's Degree (or higher) in Education from a regionally accredited college or university.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience.
Must have proven/documented experience in the use of best practices in training and coaching others as it relates to School Improvement and documented examples of the use of data to drive decisions.
Must have knowledge of Office of School Readiness (OSR) Guidelines - First Class Pre-Kindergarten Program.
