Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Risk Assessment Specialist to join our team at HomeServices Insurance. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for assessing client risk exposure on personal and/or commercial property, making appropriate recommendations, and placing coverage to address those risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market and sell personal lines insurance policies, proactively contacting all leads to recommend appropriate insurance, quote, and place coverage.
  • Foster referral relationships with real estate personnel, including agents, office managers, and mortgage brokers, to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Provide work direction to new business specialists to ensure all aspects of client on-boarding are completed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and report to management any circumstances that may lead to a potential or actual insurance errors and omissions claim, DOI, or related complaints.
  • Remain current on industry trends and specific carrier underwriting requirements, following all company procedures and processing guidelines.
  • Ensure license remains current, taking CEUs as needed in a timely manner.

  • Meet all performance and behavior expectations outlined in the company performance appraisal form or communicated by management.
  • Perform responsibilities as directed, achieving desired results within expected time frames and with a high degree of quality and professionalism.
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive work relationships with all staff, customers, and business partners.
  • Demonstrate the behavioral and technical competencies necessary to effectively complete job responsibilities, taking personal initiative for technical and professional development.
  • Follow the company HR Policy, the Code of Business Conduct, and all subsidiary and department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company information, attending work punctually and regularly, and following good safety practices in all activities.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience and knowledge; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years' successful personal lines insurance sales experience.
  • Excellent sales and marketing skills.
  • Working knowledge of insurance agency operations, coverages, rates, markets, and applicable insurance laws/codes.
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and risk management techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent automation, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of real estate, title, and/or mortgage businesses preferred.
  • Appropriate state agent/broker personal lines insurance license.
