Currently, Costa Vida operates in a growing number of locations across the United States and Canada, positioning itself as one of the fastest-expanding restaurant franchises in North America.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Lead Financial Accountant will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data by investigating account discrepancies and implementing quality control measures over financial transactions and reporting. This position will manage intricate accounting responsibilities, supervise month-end and year-end closing activities, and assist the Senior Director of Finance in preparing financial statements and budgets. Additionally, the Lead Financial Accountant will mentor junior accounting staff and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
  • Compile and analyze account information to prepare and review entries for assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
  • Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions while resolving discrepancies.
  • Generate financial statements and produce precise accounting reports.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures to enhance departmental workflow.
  • Provide training and support to junior accountants.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal control policies.
  • Assist with special projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of both basic and advanced accounting practices.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including Vlookups and pivot tables), Word, and Outlook.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Experience in the Food & Beverage industry is advantageous.
