About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Official to join our team at SAFEbuilt. As a Building Official, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our communities are safe and built to code.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with state and locally mandated code requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to daily functions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Attend department and community meetings as required.
  • Perform plan reviews for commercial and residential structures in all trades.
  • Provide inspection support as needed.
  • Supervise building department staff.
Requirements
  • OH Building Official certification required.
  • OH ESI certification preferred.
  • OH Inspector certifications in multiple trades preferred.
  • Inspection and plan review experience for commercial and residential structures required.
  • Client and team management experience in a building department setting preferred.
