LPN, Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Mount Carmel St. Ann's in the Emergency Department. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Job Summary:The LPN will work three 12-hour shifts per week from 7pm - 7:30am with rotating weekends and holidays. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support and care to patients in an atmosphere sensitive to their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
- Measure and record vital signs, record patient interview and history, and provide approved patient education materials upon direction of a provider or RN.
- Prepare patients for examinations, routine screening tests, and procedures, and assist the provider or RN with procedures as needed.
- Perform phlebotomy and obtain lab specimens as ordered, perform testing to meet regulatory requirements as ordered, and perform point of care testing as ordered.
- Prepare and administer medications (no IV medications) based on written provider order, change dressings as ordered, and remove sutures/staples as ordered.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked patient care area, abide by all federal mandates, and maintain patient confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA guidelines.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
- Current license in good standing to practice as an practical nurse in the State of Ohio, IV certification required.
- One to two years previous experience preferred.
- Effective Communication Skills.
- Current BLS/CPR and maintain current certification.
- Demonstrates skills and abilities in clinical and administrative areas including phlebotomy, office lab testing, patient care, injections, vitals, and EKG.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Must be able to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and to make decisions based on established policies and procedures.
- Basic computer skills required, previous experience with EMR preferred.
