We are seeking a qualified individual to provide operational support for the F/A-18 Low-Cost Trainer Simulator. This role involves a variety of essential functions that contribute to the effective training and testing of aviation personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the F/A-18 E/F & E/A-18 G Low-Cost Trainer (LCT) to facilitate training exercises.
- Calibrate and maintain LCT hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance and inspections on all simulator components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to LCT software and hardware.
- Support both Developmental and Operational Test events by providing technical assistance.
- Document test objectives, activities, and outcomes through detailed reporting.
- Operate the Next Generation Threat System and coordinate its use with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in the scheduling and coordination of training missions with various engineering teams.
- Provide Airborne Intercept Controller support during training missions.
- Manage the LCT flight schedule to optimize training operations.
- Operate the Tactical Operational Flight Trainer (TOFT) for advanced training scenarios.
- Utilize the Link-16 Inject-to-Live (LITL) ground station for integrated training.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of the role.
- A high school diploma/GED with 16 years of experience, an associate's degree with 10 years of experience, a bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, or a master's degree with 6 years of experience is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance throughout employment.
- Prior experience with aircraft simulators is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and liaise with external agencies.
- Demonstrated professionalism, courtesy, and integrity in all interactions.
- Possession of a CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four years of experience as an Airborne Intercept Controller or aviation simulator operator is preferred.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
