Seasonal Ice Rink Skating Instructor

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Skating/Hockey Instructor to join our team at the Glencoe Park District. As a key member of our ice rink staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students enrolled in our skating programs, delivering exceptional customer service, and assisting with special events as needed.

• Provide instruction in skills according to lesson plans, professional organizations, and agency materials.
• Teach all classes according to skating school curriculum guidelines and lesson plans, complying with all administrative/record-keeping requirements.
• Take attendance for every skating class, making phone calls or emails to skating participants/parents if there is a cancellation of class or any customer service-related needs involving the skating program.
• Arrive at the ice rink center 30 minutes before the start of class, begin and end classes on time, and provide make-ups for any classes shortened due to unforeseen circumstances.
• Limit the number of absences from class responsibilities and secure substitutes.
• Handle all contact with public patrons and staff pleasantly, courteously, and professionally.
• Follow proper safety policies and procedures, ensuring they are implemented in accordance with the Glencoe Park District Safety Manual and immediately reporting any accidents, incidents, or violations.

• Must be at least 16 years old or older.
• Have previous experience skating is required.
• 1-2 years of coaching skating.
• Must pass a criminal background check provided by the Glencoe Park District.
• Obtain USFS/ISI/USA Hockey certification upon hire.
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification within one month of hire.

• Individual Glencoe Fitness Memberships.
