Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Professional to join our team at the Glencoe Park District Early Learning Center.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Teacher will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of participants in our half day preschool program for children ages 2-5 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with lesson planning and implementation.
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep of the classroom, equipment, and facilities.
  • Assist children in clean-up activities and maintain cleaning charts.
  • Assist with carline pick up and drop off.
  • Supervise all activities to ensure safety and interact directly with children throughout the day.
  • Be willing to participate in activities leading to professional growth in child development.
  • Maintain prompt hours and notify the manager in the event of illness.
  • Ensure compliance with all DCFS policies, procedures, and requirements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Must meet all necessary DCFS qualifications, including a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and be at least 19 years of age or older. College coursework, including 6 hours in Early Childhood Education, and experience in a DCFS-licensed classroom is preferred. CPR Certification and Child Development Associate Certification also preferred.
