Job Title: Early Childhood Assistant Teacher - 3s & 4s

Job Summary:

The Glencoe Park District is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher to provide a nurturing and engaging environment for children aged 3-4 years old.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing lesson plans that promote healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development in each child.
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep of the classroom, equipment, and facilities.
  • Assist children in clean-up activities and maintain cleaning charts.
  • Administer physician-prescribed medication with written parental authorization and chart all prescription medications.
  • Remind parents to sign their child in and out when entering and leaving the center.
  • Supervise all activities to ensure safety and interact directly with children throughout the day.
  • Eat meals and snacks with the children and assist in developing good nutrition habits.
  • Participate in activities leading to professional growth in child development.
  • Maintain prompt hours and notify the Early Childhood Classroom Coordinator in the event of illness.
  • Ensure compliance with all DCFS policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Follow all policies of the center and of the Glencoe Park District.
  • Attend staff meetings, school functions, and complete any other assigned duties.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

To be eligible for this position, you must meet all necessary DCFS qualifications, including a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and be at least 19 years of age or older. Early childhood college credits and previous experience in a DCFS-licensed program are preferred.
