Interim HealthCare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team of healthcare professionals based out of our South Portland, Maine office. Our well-respected Rehabilitation Team is comprised of talented professionals in their areas of expertise. You'll thrive in our warm, friendly team environment where you feel valued and supported.

As the nation's first home care company, Interim HealthCare understands the value of home-based care to individuals struggling with strength and mobility challenges. The ideal candidate will hold a valid PTA License in the State of Maine.

As a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant, you'll:

  • Provide home-based physical therapy to patients who have lost mobility, strength, and functionality due to an illness or injury
  • Work as part of a home health team focused on the patient's plan of care and goals
  • Observe movements, conduct assessments, document progress, and modify care plans as needed
  • Assist patients with exercises and hands-on therapy to manage pain and increase mobility
  • Educate patients on their plan of care, established goals, exercises, and self-care
  • Coach family members on the plan of care, therapy goals, and safely assisting with exercises

A few must-haves for Home Health Physical Therapist Assistants:

  • Active PTA license in Maine
  • Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience, ideally in home healthcare
  • CPR certification
  • Up-to-date on all State of Maine Required vaccinations
  • Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
  • Good clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, dexterity, and compassion
