This is a full-time position with a schedule from 6:30 AM to 7 PM, including eligibility for shift differentials.
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist specializing in cardiovascular procedures with a minimum of one year of experience in cardiac and open-heart surgery. Our Surgical Technologists play a crucial role in inter-professional teams within hospitals and clinics, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care, driven by their expertise and compassion.
- Facilitates and assesses care for patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures.
- Keeps the perioperative team informed about procedural requirements and progress.
- Identifies complex patient needs by reviewing procedure protocols and assessing physical requirements.
- Prioritizes procedural processes and supplies for specialized patient groups.
- Plans surgical procedures based on the identified needs of both the surgeon and the patient, implementing interventions for recognized patient issues.
- Utilizes appropriate standards of care and collaborative clinical pathways to guide the care plan.
- Determines necessary equipment, materials, and resources to fulfill the patient procedure plan.
- Engages in cost containment activities and monitors supply levels to ensure adequate inventory.
- Completes hospital and department orientation programs and participates in educational opportunities to enhance knowledge in the specialty area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent training. Certification in Surgical Technology is preferred.
- Two years of multispecialty experience required, with the ability to function as a clinical expert in at least one service line and float to others as needed.
- Specialty areas include: Complex GYN, Complex Ortho/Spine, ENT, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Robotics, Thoracic, and Vascular.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.
