Position Summary:

This role is responsible for overseeing, organizing, and coordinating the comprehensive operations of diagnostic imaging services. This includes managing staffing and work assignments for radiologic technologists, imaging aides, and student radiographers. The position involves directing, implementing, and revising policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance workflow, boost efficiency, and reinforce radiation safety measures. The Chief Radiologic Technologist ensures the prompt delivery of precise imaging services and supervises the effective maintenance and operation of all radiological equipment. Additionally, this role acts as a key liaison among diagnostic imaging staff, physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare personnel. The incumbent will also perform the duties of a radiologic technologist as necessary, while adhering to all applicable regulations and policies to guarantee optimal patient care and safety.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program


CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist
  • RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy certification within 180 days if required
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification


EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the field


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Proven expertise in diagnostic radiology principles, procedures, and equipment, with substantial experience in emergency situations such as traumas and medical alerts.
  • Ability to perform radiographic examinations with a thorough understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology to identify and communicate potential abnormalities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and adhering to established procedures.
  • Proficient in various computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and relevant healthcare information systems.
  • Capability to prioritize and delegate tasks based on experience and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical skills to identify and resolve issues that arise.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting health information.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
