Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Sutter Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Modesto, California.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to perform a variety of diagnostic radiographic examinations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of diagnostic radiology principles, procedures, views, and equipment, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and specialized radiology procedures to produce quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Operate complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment, ensuring that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
  • Prepare for and assist physicians in a variety of radiological diagnostic and/or guidance imaging during invasive procedures.
  • Explain and educate patients on the procedure, medications or contrast media, and associated biological effects in a clear and professional manner.
  • Mentor and foster a constructive environment that helps students and new technologists build confidence in their skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Perform general clerical tasks, such as answering phones, updating patient appointments, and retrieving, entering, revising patient electronic health records (EHR).
  • Prepare and complete accurate documentation related to patient, procedures, and exam charges.
  • Inventory and order accessories and supplies periodically to maintain established stock levels.
  • Implement protection devices and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to self, staff, and patients.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe working environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment after each procedure.
  • Inspect and calibrate equipment accordingly for proper operation and record the quality control (QC) results, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Maintain strictest confidence of all patient protected health information (PHI) and protect all PHI from accidental, intentional, or inappropriate disclosure.
  • Perform quality radiographic examinations in compliance with department standards, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulatory agencies to deliver the highest level of patient privacy and care.
  • Prepare, administer, and document medications and contrast media in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Retain certification and complete mandated continuing education requirements to meet facility and regulatory agencies accreditation and licensure requirements.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • ARRT-American Register of Radiologic Technologist and evidence of application for CRT (may not begin work until the CRT is verified online).
  • OR CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist (from state where work is being performed).
  • ARRT-American Register of Radiologic Technologist.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire.
  • RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 Days of hire if required at the affiliate.
  • 2 years recent relevant experience.
