Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this role is to service and restore electronic devices utilized in specialized equipment within the pari-mutuel sector.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of technicians to deliver troubleshooting assistance and high-quality repairs on various types of equipment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Employing voltage, resistance, and current measurement tools, along with soldering instruments and oscilloscopes, to diagnose and repair specialized hardware.
  • Analyzing and rectifying complex electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, and complete systems.
  • Identifying and resolving machine operational issues.
  • Assembling cables and sub-assemblies as needed.
  • Conducting product quality assessments.
  • Utilizing computer diagnostic software and testing equipment to evaluate product quality; analyzing failures for potential design improvements; maintaining comprehensive records and reports on testing outcomes and repair activities for future reference; programming diagnostic routines to assist in troubleshooting; suggesting and implementing enhancements to testing methods for improved efficiency.
  • Participating in special events as required.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • An Associate's degree, electronic technician certification, or equivalent technical training.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in using voltage, resistance, and current measurement tools, soldering equipment, and oscilloscopes.
  • Familiarity with computers and printers.
  • Knowledge or interest in the pari-mutuel industry is preferred.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Occasional local or in-state travel may be necessary.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to twenty pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to thirty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.

Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in this work environment is typically moderate.
