Job Overview:

The primary role of the Automotive Body Repair Specialist is to deliver an outstanding customer experience through the careful evaluation and quality restoration of each vehicle, ensuring it is returned to its pre-accident state. This specialist is responsible for the complete disassembly, repair, and reassembly of vehicles, playing a crucial part in our commitment to speed, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Automotive Body Repair Specialist collaborates with all team members to meet the repair facility's key performance indicators and consistently represents the values of Gerber Collision & Glass.

Compensation: $60,000 - $150,000

Key Responsibilities:

Execute the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently. Assess repair needs and prepare cost estimates for clients. Utilize various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers for vehicle repairs. Repair minor body damage by hammering out dents and applying filler resins when necessary. Align vehicle chassis and frames to rectify structural damage. Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket components. Repair or replace glass and windshields as required. Repair or replace interior components as necessary. Weld and fit parts into place, and prepare and repaint vehicles using factory-specified paint or an agreed-upon equivalent. Strive to complete work orders within designated labor time guidelines. Conduct post-repair inspections to ensure all work has been performed correctly. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repair technician.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

Ability to interpret job orders and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to collaborate effectively with other technicians in an auto body shop environment. Comprehensive understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures. Proficient in the use of tools required for the trade.

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to work safely in a noisy environment with various odors present. Must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds as needed. Must be able to visually assess vehicle damage under diverse weather conditions. Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
