Director of Operations Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Operations to join our client, a renowned mechatronics product manufacturer, in their facility near Waco, Texas.

This esteemed company has been a leader in the industry for over 50 years, renowned for its high-quality products and exceptional customer service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the manufacturing, purchasing, and sales departments, identifying areas for operational improvement, and collaborating with the company President to develop and monitor revenue margins, operating expenses, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the manufacturing, purchasing, and sales departments.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement.
  • Work with the company President to develop and monitor revenue margins, operating expenses, and budgets.
  • Spearhead the planning and execution of departmental and company objectives.
  • Strategize ways to optimize production workflows, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Research and implement strategies to drive growth.
  • Hire, develop, and manage a team of professionals.
  • Develop and implement guidelines for employee evaluations, recruitment, and promotion.
  • Oversee employee productivity, training, and personal/career growth.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to improve scalability, agility, and efficiency.
  • Lead and manage teams.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing manufacturing strategies that drive operational excellence and achieve business objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing principles, processes, and technologies, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior manufacturing management role, with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Strong track record of successfully managing large-scale manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, technologies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing a high-performing manufacturing team.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software systems.
