About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team at Baillie Lumber. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our sawmill and kiln facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate and prioritize the work of a maintenance team to address daily maintenance and projects on site.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and oversee the current Preventative Maintenance program to increase productivity, flow, and uptime.
  • Communication: Maintain daily communication with peers and superiors on the status of repairs and projects.
  • Safety: Ensure all employees under your responsibility follow all safety policies, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance or supervisory role.
  • Availability: Minimum 45-50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Leadership: Supportive leadership, positive attitude, and ability to enforce all company policies.
  • Management: Manage and take ownership of the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Reporting: Formally review and direct report daily.
  • Initiatives: Execute all directives and initiatives.
  • Staff Management: Manage a staff of 4 second shift millwrights and 2 day shift millwrights.
  • Safety: Responsible for employee personal protection equipment, operating within safety guidelines, attendance at monthly safety talks, and executing corrections as outlined in the monthly safety audit within 48 hours.
