Job Summary

Senesco Marine, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and checking hull structures, foundations, and other shipbuilding components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and check hull structures, foundations, and other shipbuilding components using AutoCAD and ShipConstructor software.
  • Ensure production packages meet functional design requirements and adhere to good shipbuilding practices.
  • Mentor less experienced engineering personnel and provide guidance on shipbuilding techniques and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and reports.
  • Perform material take-offs (MTOs) and ensure accurate inventory management.
Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in shipbuilding with a focus on detailed design.
  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of experience with Navisworks software.
  • Knowledge of ABS and USCG rules and regulations.
  • 5 years of experience with AutoCAD software.
  • 3D AutoCAD and/or ShipConstructor experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Physical Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to climb stairs, ladders, kneel, squat, walk, sit, or stoop. Full range of motion is required. Ability to work outside, if necessary, with exposure to outside elements, e.g. heat or cold. Correctable vision to 20/40 is necessary.

Work Demands
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by a Senesco Marine Job Hazard analysis.
  • Report all accidents and injuries to supervisors and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.
  • Work at a pace consistent with meeting company deadlines.
