Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
Duration: 6 months (Contract, Full-Time)
Location: Onsite
Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing and monitoring company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain safety equipment inventory, perform periodic safety inspections, monitor hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical).
- Interact with various departments, conduct training in emergency response and hazardous material handling.
- Monitor environmental compliance and maintain liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Recommend corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist.
- Interact with others in the administration of the workers' compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions.
- Monitor industrial health compliance.
Qualifications:
- This position requires knowledge acquired through experience, specialized education, or training.
- The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making.
- The job requires a basic understanding of work routines and procedures in own discipline.
- The technical procedures for this level are well defined.
- The job works within well-defined procedures that may involve a variety of work routines.
- This job typically requires a minimum of 2 or more years of experience.
