Role Overview
First American is seeking a versatile and multidisciplinary Product Risk Analyst who can merge the art of underwriting with the science of technology. We are looking for candidates who can synthesize quantitative data-driven insights with qualitative human-centered judgment to create a comprehensive perspective.

As a Product Risk Analyst, you will collaborate with Sequoia leaders from various departments, including operations, product management, engineering, and design, to devise solutions for complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work under the guidance of the VP of Sequoia Underwriting to execute our vision of harmonizing human expertise with technological advancements for the benefit of First American and its clientele.
- Collaborate across departments to identify the technology-enabled balance where meticulous risk selection leads to a profitable and compliant insurance business.
- Mentor and develop the next generation of underwriting talent, enhancing the skills of current team members while attracting top-tier multidisciplinary thinkers to the Sequoia Team.
- Co-develop innovative technologies, products, and services alongside technical and business operations teams, translating complex underwriting concepts across diverse cultural contexts.
- Provide strategic advice to leadership regarding the integration of technology in title insurance and settlement services.

Qualifications:
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to generate empathy and rapport across various stakeholders, from technologists to profit-center managers.
- Proven leadership capabilities or potential to cultivate empathetic leadership skills grounded in the philosophy of extreme ownership.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to adjust style and method for diverse audiences.
- In-depth understanding of modern product development processes and user-centered design practices.
- Expert knowledge of real estate title insurance and settlement services processes.
- A commitment to continuous learning and upskilling in areas relevant to real property and technology.
- Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency, including familiarity with software engineering languages or technical requirement documentation.

Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree required; a law degree or graduate degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the title industry (particularly in title search/examination or underwriting) or 5+ years of legal practice in real property or technology.

Compensation:
- Pay Range: $168,125.00 – 210,107.85 annually. This range is a good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting and is subject to change based on various factors, including education, training, experience, and geographic location.
