The Massachusetts Psychological Association (MPA) is seeking a contract employee to serve as the Consulting Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This part-time position (10 hours weekly) will work collaboratively with MPA leadership to implement and assess the effectiveness of DEI initiatives.
MPA is committed to building a diverse organization where all members feel included, valued, recognized, and empowered. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on initiatives that align with MPA's strategic goal to broaden the diversity of membership and its Diversity Statement.
Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a strategy to implement DEI initiatives outlined in the DEI 2021 Task Force report.
- Measure the progress and impact of DEI initiatives in achieving systemic change across MPA.
- Provide consulting and resource support to MPA committees to assist them in incorporating EDI into their work.
- Develop DEI resources in collaboration with the DEI Task Force, MPA Leadership, Committees, and members.
- Drive commitment, accountability, and transparency around targeted improvements.
- Assist the MPA Public Issue Response Committee in drafting statements on public issues consistent with MPA's mission, strategic goals, values, and legislative initiatives.
- Provide monthly reports to the Board of Directors and attend all Board of Directors meetings.
- Appropriate educational background and work/lived experience in DEI.
- Knowledge of mental health services and practices.
- Experience working with historically marginalized groups.
- Demonstrated knowledge of concepts and processes that drive organizational DEI.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
