Job Summary: We're seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our inpatient team. The successful candidate will provide direct supervision and interactions with adults experiencing serious and/or chronic mental health disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and supervise client activities and behaviors, including general supervision of the treatment environment and completion of scheduled patient rounding.
  2. Complete clear, objective clinical documentation regarding patient activities and behaviors in a timely manner.
  3. Provide feedback to clinical staff regarding patient interactions, activities, and behaviors.
  4. Report suspected changes in patient condition and/or potential crisis situations to the charge nurse or unit leader.
  5. Adhere to and follow the patients' written treatment plans.
  6. Provide verbal redirection and gradual guidance to patients as needed, while modeling appropriate behavior and utilizing de-escalation techniques in accordance with FBH training.
  7. Remain alert and provide direct line of sight monitoring of patients as required.
  8. Perform general housekeeping tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, laundry, and sanitation of counters.
  9. Engage patients in social conversation, provide supportive listening, encourage, and/or set up recreational activities.
  10. Complete patients' personal belongings inventory and assist with admissions as needed.
  11. Attend/participate in required trainings, meetings, and supervision sessions.
  12. Serve patient meals and snacks.
  13. Maintain and enhance customer service to ensure a positive experience for both internal and external customers of FBH.
  14. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all RNs, providers, and FBH staff.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Active Nursing Assistant Certified Credential (CNA) from the WA State Department of Health
  • Food Handlers Permit within 7 days of hire
  • Active BLS certification or must be obtained within 90 days of hire
