About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our expanding maintenance team. Our Building Engineers serve as the primary customer service representatives for our clients and their tenants. This role is crucial in addressing all maintenance requirements for the properties under our care. The main objective is to protect the interests of property owners and ensure tenant safety by maintaining the physical condition of the property and its equipment in accordance with company standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and possesses a diverse skill set.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the first point of contact and representative for management and ownership, demonstrating strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Perform regular evaluations of building systems and operations.
  • Handle minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and service requests for building equipment and tenant areas, both inside and outside the property.
  • Supervise the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems of the property; report any deficiencies to the Operations team and Property Manager.
  • Respond to tenant inquiries regarding safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and environmental issues through direct contact and work order systems.
  • Proactively manage the buildings and maintain an ongoing task list for the property management team.
  • Assist in developing and following additional standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required.
  • Maintain effective communication with Operations Support staff and Property Managers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for vendors at assigned properties, overseeing their check-in/check-out and escorting them to work areas while documenting their activities.
  • Assist with inspections of fire panels and extinguishers, ensuring tenants are informed of scheduled inspections.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks such as waste removal and exterior lock box inspections.
  • Ensure a safe job site and compliance with company safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and client-specific safety standards.
  • Complete other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial building operations and engineering is preferred.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and make independent decisions.
  • Proficient in using handheld devices (smartphones) and electronic work order systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to quality work.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
