Job Title: Associate Director, Data Governance

Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Data Governance will play a critical role in shaping Denison University's data-driven future. This role will oversee the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and processes. The successful candidate will help Denison utilize the capacity of the Workday system to develop robust and systemic data tools, while fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making across the university.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a robust data governance strategy that aligns with the university's strategic objectives.
  • Convene and lead the Data Strategy Committee to oversee the development and implementation of data governance policies.
  • Work closely with the Data Management and Analytics Group, Business Intelligence, Institutional Research, and other teams to address cross-divisional reporting and data needs.
  • Ensure the central data repository maintains data integrity for accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Develop and implement best practices and standards in data processing, design, definitions, architecture, and operations.
  • Cultivate productive relationships with campus leaders to leverage data in supporting strategic initiatives and student success.
  • Develop policies and procedures for data governance, security, and resilience on campus, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
