The Sports Events & Tourism Association is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee our educational programs and research initiatives. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of sports tourism education and ensuring our members have access to high-quality learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development:
- Design and implement comprehensive educational programs, including webinars, workshops, certification courses, and conferences.
- Plan and execute educational content for live events, such as symposiums and summits, in collaboration with local experts.
- Manage speaker recruitment, ensuring alignment of content with audience needs and maintaining high standards of presentation quality.
- Act as the on-site coordinator for educational sessions, overseeing logistics and technical arrangements.
Certification Oversight:
- Lead the management of the Sports Tourism Strategist (STS) certification program, tracking participant progress and achievements.
- Develop advanced certification categories to enhance professional development.
- Address participant inquiries and manage recognition initiatives at key events.
Digital Learning Development:
- Direct the creation and curation of content for our digital learning academy, including online courses and certification programs.
- Identify educational needs and collaborate with subject matter experts to develop relevant course materials.
- Negotiate agreements with SMEs and oversee revenue-sharing arrangements.
- Work closely with the Instructional Designer to create new courses and analyze performance metrics.
Research Leadership:
- Initiate and lead research projects to uncover industry trends and opportunities.
- Collaborate with SMEs to produce insightful research reports and articles for member education.
- Utilize data analysis to identify best practices in sports tourism.
Member Engagement:
- Connect with members to assess their educational needs and interests.
- Provide resources and support, including access to research and educational materials.
- Facilitate networking opportunities to enhance member collaboration.
Administrative Duties:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational offerings and adapt programs based on participant feedback.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget related to educational initiatives and events.
Collaborative Partnerships:
Work with various departments within the organization to ensure the successful integration of educational initiatives across all platforms.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as sports management, education, or business; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in educational program development for professional audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging learning experiences.
- Experience in managing relationships with speakers and subject matter experts.
- Strong understanding of the sports tourism sector and its trends.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Proficient in data analysis and research methodologies.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and educational technologies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with social media in a professional context.
