Job Description

Job Summary:

Tarkett is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician II to join our team. As an Electronics Technician II, you will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing control systems and manufacturing equipment. You will work closely with the controls engineer to ensure all schematics and/or backup programs of PLCs, HMI, camera systems, etc., are kept current and correct.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement equipment and/or process improvements through the effective use of PLCs, servo or variable speed drives, camera technology, robotic technology, and any other resources available.
  • Assist the maintenance staff in operational debug of machine controllers, motion systems, robotics, HMI's, and all other related components in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Train lesser-experienced electricians and mechanics, thus improving the overall department skills and abilities.
  • Communicate with the project team to ensure a constant level of project awareness.
  • Work closely with the controls engineer to ensure all schematics and/or backup programs of PLCs, HMI, camera systems, etc., are kept current and correct.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 5 - 7 years related experience and/or technical training in PLCs, HMI's, VFD's, and electrical controls; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate's degree in electrical/electronics engineering is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be trained in and accountable for lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.
