Job OverviewThe Assistant Chief Information Officer will work closely with the Chief Information Officer and the ITS leadership team to define and enable the operational and cultural components that drive transformation and create sustainable IT maturity. This role requires a strong leader who can embody and enable an agile culture, develop/lead an IT Project Management Office (PMO), and act as an organizational change agent for improving Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and agile maturity and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the CIO in establishing and executing the strategic long-term goals, policies, and procedures for the ITS Department.
- Lead the identification and development of PMO roles, ITS team configurations, and recruitment appropriate to deliver the agreed-upon goals and objectives.
- Develop and lead an agile practice, putting in place the systems, processes, and ways of working to sustain a high-performing team.
- Accountable for building and maintaining the agile-at-scale competency and talent strategy at the ITS level with direct oversight of methodology guidelines and agile coaching.
- Eight years of experience in information technology; five years of which have been in a supervisory or management role.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in CS, CIS, or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in a supervisory information technology role in higher education at the director level or above.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic resource plan.
$140,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
