Job Title: District Truancy Interventionist

The District Truancy Interventionist will play a critical role in supporting chronically absent students and their families. This position will work closely with the School Attendance Teams to provide in-home support and services to encourage student re-engagement with the school community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement district policies and procedures related to school attendance
  • Provide home visits to assess student well-being and report findings to the School Attendance Teams
  • Develop and implement in-home support plans to encourage student re-engagement
  • Identify and report factors impacting student attendance
  • Communicate with families to assess problems affecting student attendance
  • Provide resources to alleviate family stress and support student attendance
  • Implement behavioral programs and plans to address truancy
  • Collaborate with the School Attendance Team to identify resources supporting Section 504 plans and IEP goals
  • Act as a liaison between the school, community agencies, and families
  • Investigate non-attendance to ensure legality of absence excuses
  • Represent the district in SARB business
  • Prepare attendance reports and coordinate attendance-related contracts
  • Enforce district rules and regulations related to school attendance areas
  • Monitor student attendance and report to the Education Administrator
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work professionally and effectively with others
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student and family information
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Public Health, or related field
  • Two years of experience working with children or young adults in an educational or social service setting
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
