Job Title: Recreational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recreational Therapist to join our team at Suncoast Behavioral Health Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing creative and therapeutic activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in our patients.

Job Summary:

The Recreational Therapist will design and implement individualized and group recreational therapy programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our patients. You will work closely with our treatment team to develop and implement treatment plans that promote positive behavioral changes, social skills, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recreational therapy programs that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of patients.
  • Provide individual and group recreational therapy interventions to promote positive behavioral changes and social skills.
  • Assess patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans that address their unique requirements.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure seamless integration of recreational therapy into the overall treatment plan.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field.
  • Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS) certification.
  • At least two years of experience in recreational therapy, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
